The photo of the day has three issues in it. The first is that it is configured in a S-Trap. This was the way plumbers used to do drain traps until they found out that it caused a siphon effect and would drain the water in the trap allowing sewer gas to come through. Second there is a flex pipe installed. These pipes make it easy for do it yourself folks but have many raised ridges and can clog easily. Third and final is the silicone they used instead of the threaded connection with a gasket. These are just some of the issues discovered during a typical home inspection.
